Q + A

WHAT WILL BE COVERED IN CLASS?

5-17-19_Luke0145.jpg

The most comprehensive natural birth class. We cover it all: nutrition, exercise, being more comfortable during pregnancy, the coaches role, introductory information about labor and birth, advanced techniques for labor and birth, complications, cesarean sections, postpartum care, breastfeeding (we do recommend La Leche League meetings) and caring for your new baby.

My classes cover a few topics that are rarely discussed in other classes including how to reduce the need for an episiotomy and the likelihood of a tear, how to avoid needing a cesarean, how to make the best of it if a cesarean is necessary, and what the coach should do if the baby is accidentally born in the car. We meet weekly for 8 weeks.

Absolutely! No matter your plans for your birth experience, this class will open your eyes to the miracle of birth and dispel many of the mysteries. The class will also empower your partner, giving him or her the confidence to be an effective advocate for you and your baby, which will definitely be imperative if you plan to medicate. The beauty of education is it affords you the luxury of being able to make smart decisions for yourself.

SHOULD I TAKE BIRTHING CLASSES IF I  WANT AN EPIDURAL OR IF I'M NOT SURE WHAT I WANT?

WHEN SHOULD I START TAKING CLASSES?

I recommend starting my classes by the 25th week of pregnancy in order to achieve maximum benefit from nutrition and exercises.
Classes are 2 hours long and include a different topic each week, as well as: videos and handouts, exercise demonstrations and relaxation exercises.
Class sizes are kept small to allow for plenty of individual attention and time for questions and discussion.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The total cost for the class is $400. Digital Version is $250

Signup is for two people, the mother and her chosen coach. It includes twelve, 2 hour long classes, 130-page official Bradley workbook, a wealth of resources, customized birth plan building, email access to your teacher for prenatal concerns, discounts on other birth services offered and light organic snacks every class.

I am sensitive to financial needs and am flexible in payment plans for the classes as well.

CAN'T I TAKE THE HOSPITALS CLASS?

HOW BIG IS THE CLASS?

The class is intentionally kept small enough for everyone to feel comfortable to ask questions, yet large enough for interaction and support from each other. I can currently accommodate up to 5 couples.

Please understand what a TREMENDOUS value these classes are—you will receive around 25 hours of instruction! A hospital class gives you some information, but they have a vested interest in the information they share. Hospital classes are much shorter with less information and are much larger, lacking personal attention. In contrast, my classes are small and incorporate sufficient time to learn how to work together as a
team to bring your child into this world and have a healthy, happy pregnancy.
